On Monday I completed a 10-week digital storytelling facilitation course run by the Story Centre. I was drawn to this work for its ethos of democratizing film practice - challenging the idea of film as product and entertainment, offering a grass-roots alternative to the narratives and stereotypes of the film industry. Bringing the lens and narratives and it's visual metaphors to the people (I like to think).
I experienced digital storytelling as a tool for personal understanding, acknowledgment and even healing (controversial word, I know).
It was incredibly vulnerable to create this little story and have it witnessed. I hope you enjoy it.
